LEARN TO SKATE

The Learn To Skate USA program is the premier learn to skate program in the world.  AZ Ice provides an amazing learning environment that motivates skaters to learn proper skating techniques and a lifelong love of skating.

LEARN TO SKATE USA

Our goal is to help your skater move to the next level.

We recommend your skater practices outside of their lessons. There are opportunities available daily.
Regular attendance and practice habits will help skaters as they attempt to pass their evaluations at the end of the class.

We offer classes on either Wednesday’s or Saturdays every 2 months throughout the year.

*Price of class does not include mandatory $20 Learn To Skate USA yearly registration valid July 1 – June 30 each year.

Regular class tuition includes the following:
1. 1-Weekly 30 minute group lesson (no make ups)
2. Free public session on class day
3. FREE skate rental for your class.
4. 4 FREE additional public skate sessions during the 2 months of your class (skate rental not included).

The above items are not included with Off Ice Jump or Ballet
We look forward to skating with you!

Classes offered at AZ Ice Arcadia

Snowplow Sam 1-4: If your child is ages 3-5 and has never skated, this is a great starting point to learn the basics of skating. Snowplow Sam classes are bases on the USFS Basic Skills Program. Children will advance through levels 1-3 with each level gradually becoming more challenging.

Basic 1-6: These classes introduce skaters to the fundamentals of the sport. These levels cover forward and backward skating, stops, edges, turning and crossovers, as well as fundamental jump and spin techniques. Upon completion skaters can advance to our Freeskate program.

Pre Freeskate: Formerly Basic 7 & 8, the prefreeskate curriculum prepares skaters to enter the freeskate levels, teaching them waltz jumps, fundamental spin technique and more.

Freeskate Advanced & Elite: These classes will cover the core curriculum of the U.S. Figure Skating Freeskate badges. However, we have redesigned it so that skaters work on all of the necessary skills with multiple instructors to prepare them for semi-private and private lessons. This is the point where the skater can decide between competitive and recreational approach to the sport of figure skating.

Adult / Teen 1-6: The Adult/Teen curriculum is designed for the beginner adult/ teen skater. It will promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques. Although divided into levels, the adult/ teen skater will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated.
